MY TIMELINE

With the start of a new year it was time to go back to my day job. Newly discovered activities like days spent with friends tubing down the Catawba River or hiking up Stone Mountain with my mom as she trained to climb Mt Kilimanjaro had to take a back seat. Balancing a full time job while delivering excellent service to my floral clients proved to be challenging but not impossible. Establishing a well maintained schedule, delegating tasks when needed and keeping lines of communication open with clients was vital, all while ensuring my own well-being wasn’t overlooked.

I started dancing when I was three and it was such an amazing creative outlet for me. Fast forward a few years and I had made the competition team! To gear up for competition weekends Mrs Rhonda, my dance teacher, would often split our team into two groups. One group performed while the other observed and then voted on best dancer. Being the ambitious child that I was, I always won; until the day when I didn't. I was absolutely devastated, breaking down into tears. Mrs Rhonda pulled me aside, encouraging me to not let other people's opinion make me think any less of the talent I knew I possessed. It was such a pivotal moment for me, and a lesson I’ve tried to hold onto throughout all of my endeavors both personal and professional.

The spark that ignited through dance eventually evolved. On my 16th birthday, after years of pleading, I was finally allowed to have my makeup done by a professional. Witnessing my fascination with the process, my mom encouraged me to pursue makeup artistry. I fell in love with the creativity of it all and how amazing it felt to help women feel their absolute best!. As I refined my skills over the years, I extended my makeup services to various settings, including weddings, events, magazine shoots, and New York Fashion Week. To this day, I continue to cherish this skill.

Early 2000s - A Spark Ignited

2021 & 22 Finding Balance

2011 - Creativity Evolved

It was the spring semester of my junior year at North Carolina State University, I had the chance to study abroad in Milan, Italy. It was my first time venturing outside the country, and I fully embraced those six months. I immersed myself in new cultures, savored delicious food, and was captivated by the stunning European scenery. One of my courses centered on sustainability, enlightening me about the environmental effects of our decisions. I was inspired to make even small changes to reduce my impact on the environment.

2017 The Semester of Self Discovery

While I will always have a special place in my heart for each iteration of my life, transitioning into floristry has been such an amazing journey filled with creativity and purpose. In this new chapter of my career, sustainability has become a guiding principle, shaping the way I source materials and design arrangements. By using reusable mechanics and opting for locally grown florals, I not only reduce my environmental footprint but also support the community around me. Attention to detail has always been a hallmark of my work. Each stem is carefully selected and placed, creating arrangements that captivate the senses. As I continue to grow in this field, I am excited to see how my passion for beauty and sustainability intertwine to create art that truly blooms.

2024 - A lifetime of loves

I had always put together small arrangements here and there for mothers day or family birthdays. Knowing this, a coworker of mine jokingly suggested I should start a side hustle! Fast forward a few months, the world went into lockdown and I was furloughed from my job. Starting as a simple curiosity, my fascination led me to spend hours immersed in Instagram content shared by experienced florists, eager to learn their trade secrets. I found myself grabbing flowers during grocery trips, attempting to recreate beautiful moments captured on my small iPhone screen. In October 2020, I took the plunge and launched EPC, forming a close-knit group of "friendors" who guided me through the wedding industry.

2020 The Start of Everything Pretty Collective

My interests have spanned several different arenas but boy oh boy have I enjoyed the opportunity of being able to create floral magic for my clients on their special day. Keep scrolling to find out a bit more of my story and how EPC came to be!

Could not have chosen a better florist - Kristin was so sweet and reliable! You can tell she loves what she does and, boy, is she good at it! I can honestly say that her designs and efficiency are what brought our ceremony and reception to life. Flowers were one of the most important things for our wedding so we had high expectations. Kristin and her team surpassed every one of them. I cannot even express how much I recommend Everything Pretty Collective.
